AOL Agrees to Distribution Deal with YellowPages.com

Local Search junkies take note: You might want to pick up a listing on YellowPages.com, if you haven't already.

Business Week reports that AOL has reached a deal with YellowPages.com, one that will beef up AOL's somewhat lagging Local Search product while significantly increasing the reach of YellowPages.com.

YellowPages.com is a joint venture between SBC's SmartPages.com and BellSouth's RealPages.com, and plans are to integrate both these sites by the end of this year.

Smart move by all parties involved, and one that will hopefully give them a chance to stand up to the Google and Yahoo Local Search blitzkrieg currently in process.
