Ask Jeeves Getting into PPC?

Adrants got a tip that Ask Jeeves would be rolling out their new PPC program August 1st.

MediaPost fleshes the story out a bit more.

There's probably a good opportunity here for AJ if they roll out a basic, stripped down PPC program that's easy for novices to understand, sorta like AdWords before all the quality-based minimums and other bits got thrown in the mix.

Update: Looks like we may have a confirmation from an article by the Dow Jones. And it appears that Ask Jeeves will be keeping Google. According to that article, Google supplies roughly 70% of AJ's revenue, while AJ supplies about 1.9% of Google's.

Can't blame AJ for not being in a big rush to phase out Google at this point.
