Welcome to my blog. Here's a list of my best posts, as well as a complete archive of everything I've ever blogged about. « The Axe Falls Over the AOL Privacy Leak | Main | AOL to Offer Digital Video Portal » August 21, 2006Can Viral Marketing Go To Far?Oatmeal just set up an extremely ballsy cross site scripting hack to show how easy it is to fake 20 links across a variety of government sites. Should they decide to leave the post up this could be a massive viral link builder, especially if someone decides to Digg it. But it does help reinforce the negative seo = hacker stereotype, and if we know anything, it's that the US government doesn't f*ck around when it comes to stuff like this. Further than I would have had the guts to go. Let's hope his next post isn't from Gitmo. Update: Ugh, I mean "Too Far" in the title. Oh well, not going to change it now. |
