Google Local Inks Deal to Use InfoUSA's Database

Interesting news for local search geeks, a club of which I'm an admitted card-carrying member.

Google going to start using InfoUSA to augment their local search data. As you may know, this is the same data provider used by Yahoo Local and Yahoo Yellow Pages. The other big provider is Acxiom, who provide results for MSN Yellow Pages, AOL Yellow Pages and A9 Yellow Pages, among others.

So I guess the current field shakes out as the table to the right indicates.

Press release.
