The New Yahoo Homepage and the Battle for the Browser Search Box

Google recently complained to the US Justice Department about Microsoft making MSN Search the default search engine in the Internet Explorer 7 browser (they were rebuffed).

Today, I used Firefox to navigate over to Yahoo to check out that new Yahoo Homepage everyone's on about. I've been seeing a trial version of it for months in IE, and was wondering if they were now making it the default in Firefox, too.

Apparently not yet, but Yahoo is doing they're best to convince users to make Yahoo the engine of choice in that Firefox browser search box in the upper right-hand corner:

As far as the new Yahoo homepage itself is concerned, Read/WriteWeb has the best review I've seen on it.
