Yahoo Debuts Blog Search

US law might not recognize bloggers as journalists ("probably not," says Dick Lugar), but maybe Yahoo will.

Yahoo's new blog search has been folded into Yahoo News, and it seems quite nice. Blog results are displayed along the right-hand side of the page, seperate from news results.

Want your blog listed? Getting a MyYahoo account and subscribing to your own RSS feed seems to do the trick. Yahoo also claims to want to:

...ultimately include the 20+ million blogs from the blo.gs ping stream.

Yours truly is in there, but they haven't yet picked up yesterday's post, so the amount of love you get from Yahoo blog search probably closely corresponds closely with Yahoo's overall opinion of your site, which is primarly based on the quality of your incoming links.

As usual, these things hit the blogosphere pretty quickly, so you can read what's being said by Battelle and SEW. And, of course, AP.

In related blog news, Aaron Wall now has a blog about blogging.
